However, we are totally spoilt for choice! Here we share with you some of British mums favourite spots in Dubai to enjoy a high tea with our friends or our mums – so come on, get your best dress on and enjoy a tranquil catch up with one of the finest surroundings.

Al Fayrooz Lounge, Al Qasr

This is an amazing place to enjoy a traditional Afternoon Tea. They have a yummy selection of sweet treats including Victoria Sponge, English fruit cake, tea cakes, sandwiches, scones and more. There’s a vast selection of teas (and coffee) and with a lovely array of treats and staff who carry you upon their hands, you can sit back and relax either inside or outside on the terrace in the cooler months and take in the elegant surroundings of the lounge or enjoy the view of the Dubai waterways, the Arabian Gulf and the Burj Al Arab.

In the summer months, Al Fayrooz Lounge offers something special – an Iced Afternoon Tea that offers iced teas including lemon, peach, mint, black current, date and green tea with rose petals and you can enjoy live piano music which makes for an afternoon of palatial indulgence. 

You can choose from the traditional or iced tea Al Qasr Afternoon Tea which costs 225 AED per person or the Royal Afternoon Tea that includes either a glass of champagne or a Gin & Tonic or Martini and this costs 325 AED per person.

Atmosphere Lounge, Burj Khalifa

Housed in the prestigious tallest tower in the world, this is another High Tea to rave about. Known for their meticulous approach to dining there are 3 options you can choose from at the Atmosphere lounge. Depending on which you choose, you will be treated to some amazing, traditional treats that are sure to make your tastebuds happy! 

Classic combinations such as strawberries and cream, fine roast with roast veg and a dessert selection that features delicate pastries in traditional flavours. 

It’s a tad bit pricier than the other teas; the options include 490 AED per person for a window table – but be quick to book this as it’s popular for guaranteeing you one of the best views in Dubai, hands down! 

For a non-window table it’s 420 AED per person and for 650 AED per person you will receive a glass of Ruinart Brut Champagne and an unlimited selection of hot and refreshing beverages. 

Children above 10 years only are welcome at the Atmosphere lounge and we recommend staying to watch the sunset. To book call 04 888 3828 

Afternoon Tea at Reform Social & Grill

Who thought afternoon tea was just for the ladies? Of course not! Reform offers Afternoon Tea options for all the family – including a Gentleman’s Afternoon Tea especially for the tea loving men in your lives! 

Reform offers affordable afternoon teas with a laid back feel as you can sit indoors or on the terrace and there’s a pretty idyllic garden for children to run around in too. 

The Gentleman’s Tea is inspired by the 40s and 50s with classic finger sandwiches and sweet bites. It’s a more masculine take on the traditional treats served and their snacks include Welsh rarebit fingers, mini smoked salmon bagels, roast beef Yorkshire pudding, crispy haddock fish fingers, and of course clotted cream and scones, making this a great idea for meetings or family get togethers.

Reform’s Mad Hatters Afternoon Tea offers a great variety of treats that are Alice in Wonderland themed that include The Cheshire Cat, Lobster and Mock Turtle bridge rolls, marzipan mushrooms, battenberg cake, jam tarts and even a ‘Drink Me’ strawberry compote milkshake!

Both packages cost 95 AED per person but a cheeky glass of Prosecco can be added on for an extra 50 AED or a Tom Collins or Espresso cocktail can be added on for an extra for 60 AED for the gentlemen (and you can even add on a whiskey and a cigar for 135 AED per person too).

Sky Tea at The Skyview Bar, Burj Al Arab

Located on the top floor of Dubai’s iconic hotel the Burj Al Arab, the Skyview Bar shows off unrivalled views of the Palm Jumeirah and The World islands so this is a place to take your visitors for sure! 

Although on the pricey side, there’s a never-ending selection of teas, coffees, sandwiches, pastries and cakes all served with mouth-watering homemade jams and Devonshire clotted cream. They also have seasonal savoury hot dishes served and if the treats aren’t enough to convince you, go to enjoy the view –  because we promise you will go home feeling relaxed and rejuvenated! 

The cost is 620 AED per person with an additional 100 AED if you want a window table. It’s open Saturday to Thursday’s and from May to September it’s open on Fridays too.sittings are either at 1pm or 4pm. Book early to secure your window spot by calling 04 301 7600

Mashrabiya Lounge, Fairmont The Palm

This Afternoon Tea is popular with British mums as it’s served in the contemporary setting of the hotel’s contemporary lounge, overlooking the Dubai Marina’s skyline from the Palm on their al fresco terrace. 

This Afternoon Tea features sweet treats, finger sandwiches, scones and clotted cream and a selection of bite sized desserts. There’s a comprehensive selection of teas from Japan, Sri Lanka and China and its served from 12pm to 6pm. It’s priced at 145 AED per person and you can sit either outdoors or indoors and there’s also a Bubbly Afternoon Tea that’s priced at 240 AED including one glass of Prosecco and is only available outdoors only.

The Lobby Lounge at The Ritz Carlton

The Lobby Lounge has one of the widest ranges of Afternoon Tea options available in Dubai and it’s popular location at Jumeirah Beach Residence and having the pianist playing soothing background music makes this a great venue for getting together with friends or for intimate celebrations.

Their 6 Afternoon Tea options each have their own selection of treats unique depending on which you choose; The Arabic Afternoon Tea for 170 AED makes a great place  to being visitors to sample local cuisine, where they will sample falafels, kibbeh tarts and many more regional flavours. 

One size doesn’t fit all and that’s why The Lobby Lounge has a range of Afternoon Tea’s to suit all tastes; The Gentlemen Afternoon Tea features savoury treats such as beef tartare and a Wagyu slider as well as 3 single malt scotch whiskeys for 295 AED as opposed to more of the sweet treats such as home baked scones served with Devonshire clotted cream in The Traditional Treat package for 190 AED. The Royal Treat includes all of the traditional package as well as a glass of champagne, a speciality hot beverage and loose leaf tea for 330 AED.

We love the fact that children are very well catered for with The Kids Treat Afternoon Tea especially for little ones that includes hand crafted chocolate lollipops and home made hot chocolate for 95 AED per child.

Al Bayt at The Palace, Downtown

With panoramic views of the lake around the Burj Khalifa and The Dubai Fountain, this is an impressive spot to bring friends and visitors alike! You can indulge in a selection of pastries, sandwiches, premium beverages, juices and exclusive teas and coffees at Al Bayt, held in The Palace hotel, Downtown. It’s another great choice to add on from a shopping trip as it’s open from 12pm until 6pm daily and building on Dubai’s cosmopolitan culinary landscape, Al Bayt has combined the traditinal afternoon tea with some customary Arabian inspired treats (if you wish).

This Afternoon Tea has treats from the West paired with flavours of the East, and includes limitless tea infusions. Children are welcome to join parents and it costs 160 AED per person with The Entertainer offers buy 1 get 1 free for this. 

Samovar Lounge, The One& Only Royal Mirage 

If you’re looking for a refined and elegant spot to enjoy an Afternoon Tea that’s surprisingly affordable then Samovar Lounge at the One & Only Royal Mirage is a great option, offering comfy sofas and low tables with perfect views across to The Palm in a tranquil, relaxed indoor or outdoor setting. They have a good selection of teas to choose from, and with your tea you can enjoy a selection of finger sandwiches, scones, Devonshire clotted cream and strawberry jam, biscuits and individual cakes and pastries for 105 AED. 

If you’re not quite so peckish, The Samovar Light Tea offers individual cakes, pastries and Arabic treats with your preferred choice of tea for 75 AED.

Al Samar Lounge, Madinat Jumeirah Resort

Another good option to tie in with visitors is Al Samar Lounge who offer traditional Afternoon Tea packages as well as Afternoon Tea especially for children who are promised to find a selection of  treats including macaroon burgers with cookie fries accompanied by vanilla, strawberry and mango syrups in ketchup, mayo and mustard bottles, fresh cookie pizzas topped with fresh fruit and melting ice cream in the shape of a cupcake. To wash it all down, your children can enjoy a glass of gourmet chocolate milk. This costs 100 AED per child and is 185 AED per adult or 285 AED with a glass of Mercier champagne.

The Ultimate Afternoon Tea at Sahn Eddar

ast but very certainly not least is an excellent choice if you’re somewhat afraid of heights but still want to enjoy the opulent surroundings of the Burj Al Arab. Located on the first floor of the most famous Dubai hotel, your visitors will thank you for this choice as guests can enjoy traditional treats including sandwiches, scones, cakes and sweet pastries that are a delicate fusion of British favourites with that hint of Emirati flair. What’s more the beautiful atrium-style setting has an Arabic band playing in the background that really adds to the experience.

Afternoon Tea sittings are at 1pm, 3pm and 5pm and it’s great value to book the Afternoon Tea including a glass of champagne for 560 AED per person (the non alcoholic package is 520 AED). Another nice touch is that you can buy gift certificates for this experience too.
