You can’t flick open a newspaper or log onto a website in the UK without spotting yet another homegrown celebrity holidaying on our sun-soaked shores…. From what seems like the entire English Football Premier League partying late into the night, to F1 Lewis Hamilton zooming around on the sand dunes, to popular personality Peter Andre and his family enjoying the best the beaches have to offer, here are the celebrity faces we British Mums in Dubai might bump into on our very own street corner…

Lewis Hamilton
With the Grand Prix down the road in Abu Dhabi every autumn, it’s little wonder that British F1 champ Lewis Hamilton is a fan of holidaying in the sunshine in our Emirate. Want to bump into him? Your best chance is heading into the desert and trying to find him on a dune buggy amongst the dunes (but we bet you can’t catch him…)

The Beckhams
The Beckhams love Dubai so much they have bought property here (allegedly purchasing a villa on Palm Jumeirah in 2002 for cool $1.6million and then an apartment in Burj Khalfia in 2009 for $5million) – so don’t be surprised if you bump into one of the most famous British families of all time in the mall. And with word that Victoria Beckham has plans to launch her fashion line over here any day now, that scenario might actually not be so far-fetched…

Andy Murray
While we’re on the subject of British sporting royalty, tennis ace Andy Murray is also a regular to our city, spotted at several luxury resorts for both work and play. Your best chance of spotting him, however, is bagging some tickets to Dubai Duty Free Tennis, where he is a regular contender against the likes of Nadal. Federer and Djokovic. It might not be the same as sitting close to him on a sun lounger, but it comes a very close second…

Jude Law
Oh how we’d love to bump into Jude Law at the pool – and given that he enjoys holidaying in our spot of sunshine, that dream could turn into reality for us British Mums in Dubai. So where to spot him? The actor is believed to be a regular at Shangri-La Dubai and was recently ‘guest of honour’ on opening night of the hotel’s club The Act (alongside fellow British celebrity and supermodel Jodie Kidd, no less). Now to convince the husband that it should be our new weekend pool spot…

Jayne Torvill
Olympist medalist ice dancer Jayne Torvill (of ‘Torvill and Dean’ fame) is another frequent visitor to our shores. Rumour has it that she chooses to stay in the regal surroundings of One&Only Royal Mirage – and we don’t blame her. No word on whether she’s popped down to Dubai Ice Rink when venturing out – but we’d definitely buy tickets for that…

Rita Ora
We’re big fans of British musical star Rita Ora – and her holiday spot of choice in Dubai is believed to be Atlantis The Palm, where she’s been spotted both poolside and rushing down the slides at Aquaventure Water Park. No word on whether she took on Poseidon’s Revenge, but we think she’s the kind of celebrity that would take it in her stride.

The entire English Football Premier League
She isn’t the only celebrity hanging out in glamorous locations, as Dubai seems to be the first holiday spot to spring to mind when a footballer fancies a bit of sunshine. From the Rooneys staying at Burj al Arab, to John Terry at Atlantis, to Jamie Vardy living it up in the city’s nightspots.

Have you spotted a British celebrity in Dubai recently? Make sure you let us know on the British Mums Dubai Facebook group or by commenting underneath this post. But if it’s David Beckham, we understand if you want to keep his whereabouts all to yourself…
