ABOUT ME

I was born in Chelmsford, Essex and grew up in the Fens in Cambridgeshire. I lived in London for 10 years, which is where I met my husband, Neil.

We moved to Abu Dhabi in 2007 after knowing each other only six weeks and got engaged three days after we arrived, he really didn’t have a chance! We went on to have two daughters Arabella who is 4 and Avaleigh, who is 12. I worked in a Hospitality Development and then went on to work within Public Relations.
We then had a short stint in Bahrain and then moved to Dubai almost four years ago for my husband’s job.

WHERE IS HOME?

My mum lives near Ely, Cambridgeshire and my dad is based in Portugal running motorbike holidays in the mountains. I still have family in Essex as well.

WHAT DID YOU WANT TO BE WHEN YOU WERE YOUNGER?

I would have loved to be a beauty editor working at Vogue, mainly for the freebies, but also had a vision of that being rather ‘Ab Fab’ which would be right up my street.

WHAT DO YOU DO?

I work as a HR & Operations Director for a cloud based IT company, e-finiti, here in Dubai. I have recently started my own business with two other mums called Dream Party, creating luxury teepee sleepover parties for children here in Dubai.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE ACTIVITY TO DO WITH YOUR CHILDREN?

My family are my greatest passion and we enjoy being together – going for lunch, to Motiongate, the cinema, beach, playdates and shopping. At home we like playing board games and swimming. My daughters are both Mermaid obsessed so love having their tails on in the pool.

HOW DO YOU SPEND YOUR WEEKENDS?

As well as setting up the Dream Party events, I love to host. My grazing platter and roast dinner always go down well at Hotel Haggis. We love brunching with our children and friends, putting the garage classics on and dancing the night away!

WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE MOVIE?

Pulp Fiction is an all time go to, but more recently A Simple Favour ticked all the boxes for me.

IF YOU COULD EAT ONE MEAL FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE, WHAT WOULD IT BE?

Roast Dinner, Pizza, Duck Pancakes and Profiteroles. I am a greedy girl.

WHO’S YOUR CELEBRITY CRUSH?

Tom Hardy with a sprinkle of Idris Elba topped off with Shemar Moore.

WHICH DESTINATION IS ON YOUR BUCKET LIST TO VISIT?

Hawaii, Italy and Japan.

WHAT’S YOUR GUILTY PLEASURE?

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, although I’ll watch any RHO franchise quite frankly, whilst having a toffee crisp in bed.

IF YOU COULD HAVE A SUPER POWER, WHAT WOULD IT BE?

Time travel would fascinate me! I would love to know what the future holds.

WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE THING ABOUT LIVING IN DUBAI?

I love that life is made easy here and things like Cafu or instashop for example help me immensely. I love the online community support of British Mums Dubai – there is always someone that can offer advice. There is always something to do, friends are like family and our children live a dream childhood.
