ABOUT ME

Born and raised in the New Forest on the south coast of England to a family of sea lovers, I was lucky to spend my youngest years messing around in boats. Learning to sail age 8, my competitive streak was soon ignited and I started racing dinghies, first nationally and then internationally throughout my teenage years, culminating in winning a Gold Medal at the Beijing Olympics age 22. I moved to Dubai in 2015 with my husband and we have been kept very busy raising our 3 minis alongside work and a little play (mostly sea or adventure related)!

WHERE IS HOME?

Lymington, England

WHAT DID YOU WANT TO BE WHEN YOU WERE YOUNGER?

A pathologist! Now I stick to who-done-it’s on tv..

WHAT DO YOU DO?

I teach and coach kids to race dinghies at Dubai Offshore Sailing Club alongside my new Greetings Card Business called Bear Necessities UAE.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE ACTIVITY TO DO WITH YOUR CHILDREN?

Two are still babies but we love anything outdoors, water/beach/boat related or a family cycle is the best!

HOW DO YOU SPEND YOUR WEEKENDS?

Usually in the pool or at Dubai Offshore Sailing Club when the weather is good!

WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE MOVIE?

I didn’t have a TV until I was 12 and we didn’t watch much so I’m a bit clueless when it comes to tv, but more recently I loved ‘A star is born’.

IF YOU COULD EAT ONE MEAL FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE, WHAT WOULD IT BE?

Maybe a delicious Poke bowl or sushi.

WHO’S YOUR CELEBRITY CRUSH?

I’ll go with Ryan Reynolds because he seems like a lot of fun!

WHICH DESTINATION IS ON YOUR BUCKET LIST TO VISIT?

I’d love to go to Costa Rica as I’ve heard the outdoor activities are fab or Canada in the summer and Iceland is on the list for one day too!

WHAT’S YOUR GUILTY PLEASURE?

Sweetner in my tea, apparently it’s a very outdated habit!! (And Maltesers of course)

IF YOU COULD HAVE A SUPER POWER, WHAT WOULD IT BE?

To be able to either sleep whenever I wanted or to not need to sleep!

WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE THING ABOUT LIVING IN DUBAI?

I love so much about Dubai and feel very spoiled to live here. From the mix of amazing people from all different cultures and backgrounds, to the amount of things to do especially with young kids, the gorgeous weather and beachy living and of course the vast range of food available at the click of a button.
