ABOUT ME

I am a bestselling author currently totally in awe of the fact that I can claim that! I am an English mummy to a charismatic and unbelievably empathetic three-year-old daughter and being a mum is my favourite journey yet! I am a passionate bulldog owner, vegetarian foodie, and yoga teacher (in my personal life) who has been an expat for 13 years! I have lived in Asia, Africa, the Middle East and Europe and I love palm trees, sweet Indian tea, and books. So many books!

WHERE IS HOME?

A hybrid of Cape Town and the south of Spain with a touch of Hampshire thrown in!

WHAT DID YOU WANT TO BE WHEN YOU WERE YOUNGER?

A teacher.

WHAT DO YOU DO?

I am an author, consultant, and a creative director. I spend my days writing, speaking, creating content and consulting on empathy, into organisations, culture, and creativity.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE ACTIVITY TO DO WITH YOUR CHILDREN?

Trampolining! We love to bounce!

HOW DO YOU SPEND YOUR WEEKENDS?

Now that winter has arrived, we spend as much time as possible outdoors – on the beach, on the grass or in the pool! Plus, we can often be found at Trampo Extreme in Nakheel Mall!

WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE MOVIE?

Dirty Dancing. Or Mamma Mia. Don’t judge me!

IF YOU COULD EAT ONE MEAL FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE, WHAT WOULD IT BE?

Dim Sum from Din Tai Fung in Singapore.

WHO’S YOUR CELEBRITY CRUSH?

Can it be a girl crush? If so, its Jacinda Ardern -the Prime Minister of New Zealand. She is leading in a way that the whole world could learn from – with empathy, humanity, and putting people first.

WHICH DESTINATION IS ON YOUR BUCKET LIST TO VISIT?

Japan; for their tea, calligraphy, and a deep sense of calm. I named my daughter a Japanese name for that exact sense of peace and humanity above all else.

WHAT’S YOUR GUILTY PLEASURE?

Brie and fresh French bread. And French fries, always French fries.

IF YOU COULD HAVE A SUPER POWER, WHAT WOULD IT BE?

To be invisible and to be able to watch human behaviour without it being interrupted from its natural state. Oh, and to watch my daughter grow and have fun in nursery school now that we aren’t allowed to step inside. Sob.

WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE THING ABOUT LIVING IN DUBAI?

The safety. Hands down. The fact that we can live without fear is a luxury so many forget. It’s worth all the stars in the sky and more.
