ABOUT ME

Hey fellow mums, I’m Lynne and I’m originally from Scotland and moved to Dubai 14 years ago. I live here with my husband Alan and 17 year old daughter Kayla. I love to travel and this was my main reason for starting my own business with Travel Counsellors.  I’m always on the lookout for our next adventure and you’ll normally find us sailing in the Seychelles, skiing or at Disney World! I also love taking photos… sometimes to the annoyance of my friends and family.

WHERE IS HOME?

I grew up in a town called Airdrie which is on the outskirts of Glasgow. Dubai is also home as I’ve lived here for so long.

WHAT DID YOU WANT TO BE WHEN YOU WERE YOUNGER?

Cabin Crew and I did it for 5 years and loved it!

WHAT DO YOU DO?

I’m a Travel Counsellor. I have the most amazing job, I get to plan people’s holidays for a living.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE ACTIVITY TO DO WITH YOUR CHILDREN?

Well my daughter is a teenager so any time she wants to spend with us is amazing!!!!

HOW DO YOU SPEND YOUR WEEKENDS?

At the beach, socialising with friends, off-roading or hanging around the house watching tv.

WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE MOVIE?

It’s between The Godfather & The Matrix.

IF YOU COULD EAT ONE MEAL FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE, WHAT WOULD IT BE?

Anything Thai as long as it’s extremely spicy.

WHO’S YOUR CELEBRITY CRUSH?

Cillian Murphy and nobody will ever come close to him

WHICH DESTINATION IS ON YOUR BUCKET LIST TO VISIT?

Nashville is my number one as I’m such a country music lover and have never been.

WHAT’S YOUR GUILTY PLEASURE?

Chocolate and a glass of red.

IF YOU COULD HAVE A SUPER POWER, WHAT WOULD IT BE?

Probably healing – not sure if that’s a superpower or not? Watching your child go through the teenage years is tough, would love to just take away all the pain of growing up.

WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE THING ABOUT LIVING IN DUBAI?

Mmm, so many things so I can’t just choose one. The weather as I love the sun, I even love the Dubai summer.  Having friends who are more like family is definitely an amazing thing about Dubai.  Probably my favourite is bringing up my daughter in such a safe and diverse country. We are extremely lucky and never take our life for granted.
