ABOUT ME

Hey I’m Buff, well Elizabeth, but I’ve been known as Buff all my life. I’m 26 and a mummy to 3 beautiful girls. Ellexis age 4, Elodie age 2 and Esmae who was born in May 2021. I was born and grew up just outside of Birmingham with an older brother who I’m very close with. I’ve been with my husband for 7 and a half years and married nearly 4. We moved to Dubai in March 2018 for my husbands job move to Emirates.

WHERE IS HOME?

My heart will always call Birmingham home and I love going back to visit family and friends but my girls only really know life in the UAE so I definitely consider Dubai to be home for us as a family and we’ve started to create a lovely home and life here.

WHAT DID YOU WANT TO BE WHEN YOU WERE YOUNGER?

Growing up I was extremely focused on becoming a ballerina, I went to The Birmingham Royal Ballet School where I lived for 5 years and trained everyday. My school gave me some amazing opportunities and I was lucky to have danced in some pretty spectacular venues and big audiences. I performed for royalty and met some very interesting people. But due to an injury I was forced to redirect my career.

WHAT DO YOU DO?

Before moving to Dubai I was Cabin crew for British Airways. I loved the crew life and travelled to so many amazing places around the world. Now I’m a full time girl mummy, 3 kids under 5 definitely keeps me busy but it’s absolutely my favourite job role. Once all my girls are at school I’d love to start my own business one day.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE ACTIVITY TO DO WITH YOUR CHILDREN?

We love days out together, especially pool days and cinema trips but we also love a movie afternoon with popcorn making at home!

HOW DO YOU SPEND YOUR WEEKENDS?

I’m still getting used to weekends being Friday and Saturday here, I think I’ll always cook a Sunday roast on a Sunday. Most weekends we spend with friends and their kids for days out or play dates. Also weekends are our zoom calls home to catch up with family.

WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE MOVIE?

I’m a sucker for anything soppy but I’d say my top 2 would be The Greatest Showman and The Notebook.

IF YOU COULD EAT ONE MEAL FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE, WHAT WOULD IT BE?

It would definitely have to be Nando’s (a UK Nando’s though) it’s just not quite the same here in Dubai.

WHO’S YOUR CELEBRITY CRUSH?

Either of the Hemsworth brothers!!

WHICH DESTINATION IS ON YOUR BUCKET LIST TO VISIT?

I’ve been to so many places thanks to my job but one place I never got to was Cape Town, and I’d love to go. I really want to go Shark diving and I’ve heard Cape Town is the place to do it! One of my favourite places as crew was Johannesburg so I’d love to see another part of South Africa. The food and wine were just amazing! I’d also really like to take the girls to Disneyworld Florida!

WHAT’S YOUR GUILTY PLEASURE?

Definitely Glee, I love a good musical and I’ve watched all the seasons of Glee multiple times.

IF YOU COULD HAVE A SUPER POWER, WHAT WOULD IT BE?

I would love the ability to end this pandemic, I’d love life to go back to ‘normal’ whatever that is, and be able to travel freely to see our loved ones. As a wife of an Emirates A380 pilot who’s currently on unpaid leave, travel is such a big part of our life and I’m ready to the world to start flying again.

WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE THING ABOUT LIVING IN DUBAI?

I love the lifestyle especially for kids, there’s so much for them to do. I love that friends become family. I have some real close friends I’ve met since living in Dubai who I’d definitely consider family and I know I could always rely on.
