If you’re a seasoned bruncher, then this one should be top of your list. Visit one of the original iconic hotels, set amongst the Dubai skyline along the Sheikh Zayed Road and feast on the best of British, Arabic and Italian cuisine.

Embrace the fairytale as you eat, drink and the kids play, while their favourite fairytale characters wander throughout adding a little glamour to the already enchanting occasion. But don’t take out word for it – we asked British mum, Joanne Harvey to try out the brunch for size:

“Walking in we were greeted by ‘Tik’ and ‘Tok’ and the entertainers for fun photo opportunities, our kids were warmly welcomed and couldn’t wait to check out the entertainment area. Our table had comfortable seating in a relaxed, intimate atmosphere while the service was attentive, warm, and friendly.

The food had something for everyone, catering for our party of carnivore, pescatarian and vegetarian. There was a fresh array of various salads, different soups, succulent seafood including prawns, lobster, scallopsand oysters, cured salmon and pan-fried sea bass. Steaks cooked to order and delivered to the table, beef wellington, braised lamb, chicken kebabs, al dente vegetables, mash potatoes, toad in the hole, broccoli au gratin, pesto penne, mint peas – the selection was endless.

A firm favourite was the noodle soup station, which you could self-assemble with an extra spicy option. The children’s food station had an easily accessible selection of kids’ favourites, but we couldn’t keep them away from the show involving magic, science and dry ice. It kept them mesmerised for a long time and was the best we’ve seen at brunch.

There was live music from David Howard, the resident singer, who had such an excellent voice, with a likeness to a certain “hello” singer, he kept the mood light and fun.

After such a wonderful day, we couldn’t help but buy a keepsake wooden tiger from p l a a y, with proceeds going to the Make A Wish Foundation. It’s such an important charity to us and it was good to see the hotel supported it too. What a magical day we had, we would recommend and return.

Dunes family brunch starts at just AED 325 for adults and AED 150 for teens with kids aged 11 and under enjoying both the meal and the magic for free. House beverages packages are AED 499, prosecco packages are AED 599, with champagne upgrades for just AED 225 per person.
