Being fit and healthy is one of the most important things in life, and having a fit and healthy family comes with that. How often do you get the kids involved in your exercise? Well with the Dubai Fitness Challenge it’s super easy!
It’s 30 minutes of activity each day for 30 days starting on Saturday 29th October. With a month-long calendar of free workouts, exciting fitness events and wellness-centric entertainment, there’s plenty of inspiration to keep everyone moving.
We’re making it easy for you here at British Mums and have put together a day-by-day list so wherever you are and wherever you go, fitness is within yours and your children’s reach. (Registration is required for some events).
Saturday 29th October
Start the challenge off easy and get the whole family together for a walk or bike ride. There’s plenty of fab communities like Damac Hills and Dubai Hills that offer walking/cycle routes that have no traffic so it’s safe for the little ones.
Sunday 30th October
Lace-up your trainers for the Skechers Performance Run. Run solo, with friends or the whole family with options for 16km, 10km, 5km and 3km distances at The Track Meydan Golf. Discounts are available for family registrations and everyone who completes the race will receive a t-shirt and a medal after crossing the finish line. (Charges apply).
Monday 31st October
Aventura at Mushrif Park features over 80 thrilling challenges for all ages. Feeling brave? Scale climbing walls and take a leap of faith from the 25m Tarzan jump, while your little monkeys climb ropes and zip-line through the treetops. The park’s activities here are all interconnected and grouped around varying heights, so there’s hours of fitness fun to be had after school for children and adults alike. (Charges apply).
Tuesday 1st November
If you’re looking for workouts that the whole family will love, book a play date at Street Maniax. Where Parkour meets trampolines and assault courses, guaranteed to tire out even the most energetic of children. There are several different zones to try including a jump tower, zip line and even trampoline dodgeball for a true test of agility, plus just 30 minutes on a trampoline can burn around 200 calories! Wednesday 2nd November
If you’re a Privilee member then look out for their 30/30 challenge. Check into any venue, every day from the 29th of October until the 27th of November to be in with a chance of winning 30 extra days added to your membership.
Thursday 3rd November
Take advantage of our FREE fitness class which is exclusive for British Mums members by joining us at F45 Jumeirah Park for a morning of fitness guaranteed to make you feel amazing whilst having loads of fun in the process! Friday 4th November
L’Couture is running several classes throughout the 30/30 challenge that are complementary. This session is a vinyasa flow class. Head to the Kempinski Hotel, Mall of the Emirate on Level 2 for the sessions, and afterwards enjoy 20% off Breakfast at the Aspen Lounge. Click here to book.
Saturday 5th November
Take some zen time with your kids at this free Parent and Child Yoga by INSPIRE. It’s at Gate District DIFC Fitness Hub at 5pm and is the perfect way to end your day with a gentle stretch and relaxation.
Sunday 6th November
The Dubai Ride is one of the biggest events in the months’ calendar and there’s two routes: 4km Downtown Family and 12km Sheikh Zayed Road. The 4km Downtown Family route includes Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard, Dubai Mall, Dubai Opera and the Burj Khalifa. The easier of the two, this route is suitable for cyclists of all ages and skills. The longer 12km Sheikh Zayed Road route will cover Dubai World Trade Centre and Safa Park. Participants must climb the Dubai Canal Bridge, making it more suited to experienced cyclists.
Monday 7th November
RTA Last Exit Al Khawaneej Fitness Village is packed with great ways for families to get fit and have fun. Choose from our super-intensive and super-fun Ride classes, dozens of group sessions at the main stage, the exclusively ladies-only fitness studio, or high-energy rebounder sessions. Children can get a taste of martial arts and yoga, or enjoy dance, zumba, bootcamps – and more.
Tuesday 8th November
Experience a fun and rewarding class at Reset Fitness at Jumeirah Islands Pavilion. It will involve working through a circuit of cardio and strength exercises to help you tone and burn some serious calories! It doesn’t matter whether you are new to working out, a little out of practice or a seasoned pro, Reset’s workouts feature two different training intensities to suit everyone! (Charges apply). Reset are also running classes at the Kite Beach Fitness Village on Wednesday 9th, 16th, 23rd November at 6.30pm and 7.30pm and Saturday 26th November at 9am and 10.30am.
Wednesday 9th November
Last Exit Al Khawaneej Fitness Village has five exciting fitness zones for people of all ages including group exercise sessions, the exclusive ladies-only fitness studio and the high-energy rebounder sessions. Little ones looking to get fit can choose from martial arts, yoga, dance, Zumba and bootcamps.
Thursday 10th November
Zabeel Sports District will play a part as a fitness hub for two weeks, offering a range of free 30 minute classes held on the rooftop of the Dubai Mall Zabeel. There’s something for everyone, yoga, body technique, mobility classes and a bonus, to work out with a stunning Burj Khalifa view.
Friday 11th November
Get your dancing skates on and sign up to one of the special Disco Sessions at the Olympic-sized rink at The Dubai Mall. It doesn’t matter how young or old the kids are, there’s something for every age and ability as you boogie on ice to R&B, hip hop, dance hall, dubstep and world music. Who said exercise needs to be boring? (Charges apply).
Saturday 12th November
Expo City is no stranger to outstanding events. And during Dubai Fitness Challenge, it will open its doors to a fun weekend of sports and fitness extravaganza on the 12th and 13th of November. If you haven’t explored the architecture of Expo City Dubai yet, sign-up for the sessions.
Sunday 13th November
InnerFight is a firm favourite with British mums with its studio in Sports City. Make working out a family affair as InnerFight has classes for the kids too! From 5 years old, children can get fit and have fun in dedicated classes, with the opportunity to learn about the importance of a healthy lifestyle, receive nutrition advice as well as tailored workouts for all ages and fitness levels (first class is free).
Monday 14th November
Want a fitness class for your teens? Check out the new fitness classes from RESET TEENS by Reset Fitness. The twice weekly classes feature age-appropriate, TV-led workouts that offer a fun and engaging way to introduce your teen to fitness, as well as helping to boost concentration, energy and confidence levels. Tuesday 15th November
Try BOXFIT at Optimal Fitness, this class packs a punch. A small group boxing programme designed and exclusively for women. Learn all of the technical and fundamental skills of boxing whilst having fun, working hard and getting in top shape all with a great bunch of people! (Charges apply).
Wednesday 16th November
From 16-20 November, Zabeel Sports District will also be hosting a Dubai Padel Cup tournament. Head on down to sign up to some of your favourite sporting activities and get your 30 minutes of exercise done, whilst having fun.
Thursday 17th November
In recognition of the Football Men’s World Cup that starts during the course of the 30/30 challenge, there will be four youth 5-aside football tournaments staged. Thetournaments comprise of Under 14 and Under 11 for Boys and Under 14 and Under 11 for Girls. Matches will mostly be played at the multipurpose pitch at the DP World Fitness Village Kite Beach.
Friday 18th November
A simple one here – swim! Make the most of the wonderful pools in Dubai or thrash out some laps in your community pool.
Saturday 19th November
Why not try out Dubai Chamber Aqua Parks Leisure at The DP World Kite Beach Fitness Village. You can enjoy a special 30×30 offer of 30 minutes for just AED 30, and have fun in the water.
Sunday 20th November
This is one of the biggest dates in the Dubai fitness calendar – The Dubai Run. The entire city will become a personalised running track for all ages, abilities and fitness levels; giving everyone exciting new reasons to join! Run, jog or walk along your preferred route, distance, location and starting time with your friends and family (and the British Mums team!) and have fun. From Jebel Ali to Jumeirah; Downtown to Dubai Creek – the track is yours to choose in any community or neighbourhood. So get the kids geared up, and get moving!
Monday 21st November
Fancy a solo stretch without the kids? YoFit is one of the hottest studio’s in Dubai and offers up to seven classes daily. Simply put, YoFit offers a range of YoFit Style classes in a heated room ranging from 35- 40 degrees! (If you’re missing the heat!).
Tuesday 22nd November
Work up a sweat at Ibn Battuta Mall’s new indoor activity park Sky Zone, which has everything you need to get little ones up and active. Children will love the 35,000 square foot destination which is home to a full-blown Wipe Out zone, warrior courses, climbing wall, dodgeball court, trampoline park, warped walls, a zip-line, foam pit, and a dedicated area for toddlers. All you need is a pair of grip socks and you’re good to take on this action-packed maze of fun. Note that little ones need to be at least 110cm tall to enter the park. (Charges apply).
Wednesday 23rd November
For an exciting indoor exercise adventure for the family, head to Tepfactor Dubai. Set in the caves of JBR there are 21 challenges designed to test your patience, fitness, logic and skill. Expect rushes of adrenaline, hours of laughter and memories to last you a lifetime. Tepfactor Dubai is suitable for children aged 8+ years. (Charges apply).
Thursday 24th November
Head down to the home-grown roller skating concept in Dubai Roll DBX, the perfect activity for the whole family to get involved in. Work up a sweat whilst gliding to the latest tracks and having fun in the process. The skate park is open to all ages until 7pm – after which it’s for over 14s only. (Charges apply).
Friday 25th November
A great way for kids to be active, stay fit and healthy is to take them to Air Maniax. You’ll easily lose the 30 minutes of activity here as it’s one huge indoor inflatable park and warrior course fun for children (and parents) of all ages. With a 15,000 square-foot area, this insane play area features an assault course, toddler area, zipline, slides, foam pit, and laser frenzy. (Charges apply).
Saturday 26th November
If you want to head out of the city for a workout, why not head to Hatta for a mountain biking session. It’s the perfect opportunity to take some exercise and spend quality time together as a family. Or Hatta Dam is perfect for kayaking, and the rugged mountain scenery makes for a dramatic backdrop as you glide through the calm turquoise water.
Sunday 27th November
Football fans can hone their skills or just have some football fun at The Box by Nissan Zone at DP World Fitness Village Kite Beach, a brand-new football challenges activation area. Participants can enjoy daily challenges including penalty shoot outs, target practice, defender scenarios and volley drills.
