Cancer affects millions of women globally, and in the UAE, the disease impacts more women than men. This means countless of us are facing a cancer diagnosis every day here. If you or someone you know is going through this challenging journey, you’re not alone.

Majlis Al Amal, meaning “Hope Lounge” in Arabic, is a unique cancer drop-in centre in Dubai Healthcare City, and the first of its kind in the UAE. Established by Al Jalila Foundation, it offers a dedicated space for women affected by cancer to find free support, comfort, and hope.

Around the world, community drop-in centres have proven to be invaluable in the healing journey. While medical intervention is crucial in the treatment process, the emotional toll of cancer on patients and their families is often underestimated.

Which is why the dedicated volunteers at Majlis Al Amal understand that cancer impacts the whole person, not just physical health. That’s why a holistic approach is offered, focussing on the emotional well-being of cancer patients and their families. The centre is a safe haven where you can connect with others who understand your journey, share experiences, and find strength in community.

Located in a welcoming environment, Majlis Al Amal provides a range of services that are all free of charge including emotional support, relaxation groups, and educational sessions. Our dedicated volunteers are here to listen, offer guidance, and create a supportive atmosphere.

You can drop in anytime for a chat, a cuppa, access the library, or take part in the many activities on offer.
