Carmina Burana – The Ballet takes centre stage at Dubai Opera on Friday 23rd and Saturday 24th May 2025, offering a bold, contemporary twist on one of classical music’s most iconic works.

Performed by Maribor Ballet of the Slovene National Theatre, this stirring reinterpretation of Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana is choreographed by Edward Clug, whose visionary approach brings the raw emotion and energy of the music into the world of modern ballet. Expect powerful movement, haunting vocals, and stunning visual storytelling.

Clug explores themes of desire, destiny and the cyclical nature of life, with dancers embodying the rise and fall of fortune in a performance that’s both thought-provoking and unforgettable. The famous opening, O Fortuna, sets the tone for a mesmerising evening that reflects on life, love, and longing.
