Families delight as the search is on at Dubai Airports this month for the toy that thinks it is trash from the best new family blockbuster to hit the big screen this year. Who is it? “Forky” of course, (the unlikely hero from the fantastic new Disney and Pixar’s Toy Story 4 movie), and if found by your family when you’re jetting off on your hols, could be the key to winning you all a magical family trip to Paris.

Dotted around the world’s most modern and busiest international airport (DXB), are several hidden “Forky’s” you could find, and to be in with a chance of scooping the magical family holiday with theme park tickets (and flights with Air France), DXB wants customers to #FindForkyDXB and take a selfie with him – It’s really that simple!

Make your selfies as creative as you can because anything goes, then all you have to do is share it to your Instagram, tag @DXB and include the hashtag #FindForkyDXB to be entered into the draw to win this magical once-in-a-lifetime trip to Paris.

Not only can you bag yourself an awesome trip that kids will LOVE but in addition to some serious DXB summer fun at the airport, young travellers are also being encouraged to get crafty and recycle.

Every weekend throughout July, DXB staff are making the topic of recycling loads of fun for children flying out of Dubai with some of the much-loved characters from Toy Story 4, by inviting them to bring their single-use plastics to the craft stations that are dotted about and will help them turn it into their very own toy.

Children have been bringing in plastic forks, spoons, or even empty water bottles to turn them into their own toys and together with some of the 8 million expected passengers flying this month will be shown how to transform recyclable materials into toys by making their own super-cute “Forky”.

Not only is this a brilliant way to occupy the kids before your flight and teach them a thing or two about recycling for the future, but it’s also an important message that’s linked to Dubai Airports‘ phenomenal pledge to eliminate all kinds of single-use plastics by the 1st January 2020 and this is FANTASTIC news.

Last month Dubai Airports
announced their intention to eliminate single-use plastics from all customer areas of their two airports, DXB and DWC and this is an interesting way of bringing so many of their younger flyers on the journey with them by showing them how important it is to be mindful of what we consider as waste, in the lovable form of “Forky”.

As an airport operator welcoming a staggering 90 million passengers per year arriving, transiting or departing Dubai, the airport has already taken responsibility for its environmental impact and actively recycles at every opportunity possible. In fact, over 43,000 tonnes of paper, glass and other waste that’s collected from the airport’s passenger spaces is recycled each year and in the past six months alone, 16 tonnes of single use plastic bottles and bottle caps have been collected and disposed of – but there’s much more work to do….

Further educational activations and initiatives will be supported over the coming months once again as Dubai Airports’ food, beverage and retail outlets reduce and ultimately eliminate single-use plastics further.

Sounds good? It’s BRILLIANT of course! Do your bit this summer and get the kids involved. Remember to keep your eyes peeled for “Forky” and bring along your own recyclable materials. Good luck – you could be whizzing off to Paris very soon!
