With the guidelines around travel constantly changing, many of us may have already resigned ourselves to the fact that returning to the UK this summer is sadly no longer an option. As British mums we now find ourselves in pursuit of the perfect family holiday destination to escape the Dubai summer heat and whilst it’s no match for seeing our nearest and dearest back home, we may have found a great alternative.

If staycation is the new vacation, then the Hilton Seychelles Labriz Resort & Spa have gone one better, introducing the campcation! This great new concept in family holidays, combines the best elements of a luxury escape whilst offering an incredible programme of classes and activities to keep the kids entertained for the duration of your stay.

Nestled on the private island of Silhouette, this stunning Seychelles resort is the epitome of a tropical paradise, boasting lush jungle greenery and pure white sandy beachesand with the campcation package you can thoroughly relax and enjoy all that the resort has to offer. Oppidan Education, a UK company specialising in mentoring within schools and summer camps, have curated a comprehensive schedule to keep the kids occupied, providing a fantastic choice of activities ranging from the more traditional sporting pursuits such as tennis, diving, sailing, dancing and yoga to art classes, nature and history talks and that’s not all.

The Hilton Seychelles Labriz Resort & Spa have drawn on their incredible hospitality knowledge and created a mini hotel school for budding hoteliers. The little island hoteliers programme covers every aspect of hospitality, kids will be able to try their hands at cookie, pizza and mocktail making as part of food and beverages, learn first aid at the medical centre, have some fun with science and engineering by investigating a water plant and seeing how a golf buggy works, a spot of towel art with housekeeping and nail painting, hair braiding and body scrub making at the spa.

There’s an opportunity for the whole family to get involved with three different groups, divided by age range, for the resorts’ little campers. Red Snappers for 4-6 year olds, Frogs for 6-9 year olds and Bats for 9-12 year olds, ensuring that the activities are suited to all levels and capabilities. Campers will complete three or more classes a day with talks and sports making up the afternoon entertainment and then a family activity in the evening to round the day off nicely. Whilst the kids are occupied why not take a look at the range of activities for adults, I mean why should the kids have all the fun, right? There’s everything from fishing, hiking trails, boat excursionsand golf and one that very much caught our eye, a wine tasting course. This is all obviously supposing you can tear yourself away from your sun lounger and the undisturbed peace of having the children in camp.

All this activity is sure to create some hungry bellies and with 8 restaurants and bars to choose from including traditional Creole cuisine to Asian fusion dining and the more child-friendly Italian pizzeria, you’ll have no trouble finding something for even the fussiest of eaters.

There are some incredible accommodation options available from beachfront pool villas, garden villas with tropical mountain views and family pool villas which sleep a family of 6 and come with your own private pool.

With prices starting from EUR 392 per villa per night, based on Bed & Breakfast with the Dream Away offer. This offer also includes free cancellation or date change up to 5 days prior to arrival, complimentary early check-in and late check-out where available and waived early departure fee.
