In an ideal world wouldn’t it be great to give our babies and toddlers meals that are cooked from scratch every day. But busy lives – and busy mums – means this doesn’t always happen. So, when British Mums discovered Bumblebee Food, we nearly fell off our chairs. Ready-made, frozen meals that come in recyclable pouches that are BPA free.

And what goes in matters. A certified chef makes the meals from fresh with the help of a paediatric nutritionist. The ingredients are sourced locally andorganically where possible. The protein is hormone-free and grass fed, and there is no room for your baby or toddler to get bored, as the menu changes monthly.

Sounds too good to be true? We asked British mumTania and Kelly to try out Bumblebee Foods, and here’s what they had to say…

Tania and son Luca who is 9 months

Luca’s favourite was the veggie bites which are great finger food for weaning. I love the fact that the ingredients do not contain additives or preservatives.  A big thumbs up for this quirky brand, I will be stocking up my freezer, so we have meals at the ready.

Kelly and daughter Mali who is 21 months

I’m a working mum with a great nanny but we often struggle with what to choose for meals, so having these was great for busy daysThe coconut fish curry was simple and delicious. It went down so well that the big kids opened the second pouch and shared it between the three of them with a big bowl of rice.

The berry blast puree was happily slurped straight fromof the pouch cold. I sneaked a bit aside, heated it up and added it to her porridge which she also loved. The veggie bites were a bit soggy for Mali as mashed textures aren’t her thing, but a few minutes in the air fryer crisped them up beautifully.

But overall Mali’s favourites were definitely the beetroot pancakes. They were yummy! The only downside for us was that the pouches needed defrosting overnight so they weren’t an option for a last minute meal. The best thing was the portions were big enough to easily cover two meals. Win win!”
