Now, here’s something we British Mums LOVE  the sound of and that’s companies in Dubai doing their bit for the environment.

Having taken a firm stance against plastic pollution by removing all plastic straws and cutlery across its entire operation of physical restaurants and home delivery services, The Noodle House, Dubai’s homegrown legacy brand, is upping the ante by launching ‘Plastic Amnesty’ day.

On Sunday March 18th, which marks ‘International Companies That Care Day’ – a celebration of organisations that aim to make a difference to both people and the planet – The Noodle House are furthering their mission to change single-use wastage by offering Dubai diners who bring unwanted takeaway plastic cutlery to any of The Noodle House branches (excluding Dubai International Airport) 50% off their food bill. The discount applies to an unlimited number of people, while donated cutlery can be from any café or restaurant.

All cutlery collected will then be recycled by The Noodle House, so grab your friends and stand with The Noodlers in their fight against single-use plastics.

While there are currently no statistics for plastic use in the UAE, The Plastic Oceans Foundation estimates that we are producing nearly 300 million tons of plastic worldwide each year, with around 50% used just once and thrown away. Amid this immediate threat to more than 700 marine species who face extinction due to plastic ingestion, entanglement and pollution, The Noodle House is standing in union with Freedom Pizza, which launched its nationwide #stopsucking campaign in a bid to call time on unnecessary plastic. The Noodle House is now only offering paper or bamboo straws on request, while plastic cutlery has also been removed from all of its home deliveries to further reduce damage to the environment.

One step at a time is all we need to do to ensure that we can change the world for the better. We give the Noodle House a BIG thumbs up for this initiative.
